As summer gets into full swing, our mission to save abandoned dogs and cats in war-torn Ukraine burns brighter than ever. Thanks to our amazing #FrontlineFeedingProgram sponsors, your incredible support powered another daring journey to Pokrovsk, a frontline city under relentless attack, delivering hope in the form of 600 kg of high-quality animal food and 90 kg of cat litter for stray, abandoned, and sheltered animals. This wasn’t just a delivery – it was a lifeline for pets and people refusing to give up amid chaos.

Pokrovsk’s reality is grim: stores are shuttered, supply trucks avoid the area due to drivers being killed in drone attacks , and residents survive on what they grow. Yet, their compassion for animals shines. One family, displaced after their neighbourhood was bombed, now shelters an astonishing 32 cats and 5 dogs in their yard, taking every stray from their shattered community with them. Their story is a testament to courage, and we’re honoured to support them.

This mission was no easy feat. As our team approached Pokrovsk’s city limits, a drone zoomed toward their van – a heart-stopping moment. Driver Yevgeny floored it, and the drone missed by just 10 meters, crashing harmlessly. Not a scratch on the team – a true miracle! This close call, following a previous mission where a drone hit our convoy, underscores the danger our volunteers face to feed animals in need.

In a city where shelling never stops, Pokrovsk’s residents still put animals first, often requesting food for their pets before themselves. Your generosity made this delivery possible, ensuring cats and dogs have full bellies despite the war’s toll. Every bag of food and scoop of litter is a spark of hope, proving that compassion can thrive even in the darkest times.
