Crypto Philanthropy Donation Platform

Bitcoin Ethereum Litecoin & 70+ Altcoins

Make a Cryptocurrency or NFT Charity Donation – and help save lives

In 2017, K9 Rescue became the first animal charity in the UK to accept Bitcoin – a form of digital currency, and then in 2022 we proudly joined both The Giving Block and CoinGate to be able to take multi-cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Hedera (HBAR), Litecoin and 70+ more Altcoins, as well as Stocks and NFT via The Giving Block.

Your Cryptocurrency donation will help save the lives of abandoned and abused dogs and help us in our lifesaving work helping the neediest dogs who would otherwise have no chance at all; heartfelt thanks to all of our donors supporting us during these extremely difficult times.

Thank you so much for your support!

Frequently asked questions

Why accept cryptocurrencies?

Bitcoin and other mainstream cryptocurrencies are an innovative new kind of currency and we believe that by accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Hedera and all the other Altcoins, we will provide the opportunity for donations we may not otherwise receive, as well as connecting us with a new community of supporters.

Also, from our research into future trends, it looks likely that we will receive digital currency as a donation and/or as part of a legacy at some point and we want to be prepared for that eventuality.

Are Crypto donations anonymous?

Yes, they work the same as a cash donation in that anyone can send them to us without providing their details. If people wish to hear from us in the future, they can provide their details voluntarily.

What is the value of different cryptocurrencies?

The value of each crytocurrency varies. An up-to-date value in dollars, pounds or euros can be found at coindesk.com/price.

The ‘wallet’ – which is a kind of online collecting tin for Cryptocurrencies – we have chosen to use, allows for donations of 0.00000001 of a crypto ‘coin’.

How safe is it to donate cryptocurrencies?

We’ve selected a provider that we believe offers the best level of protection for our crypto coins in a hosted ‘wallet’ using two-factor authentication and AES encryption (Advanced Encryption Standard).

As with all online transactions you should take care when entering your information and follow reasonable security measure with your personal information.

A unique feature of the crypto coin system is that all transactions where funds move from one wallet to another are publicly visible in a public ledger that forms the basis of the Cryptocurrency system – called the blockchain.

Are cryptocurrencies legal?

Yes. There is currently no legal restriction for merchants to accept payments in Cryptocurrencies in the UK, Ireland or the EU.

HMRC have issued guidance to companies on how to handle, record and tax crypto transactions, and operations which K9 Rescue will comply with. More details on HMRC guidance are available here.
